Kevin J. LaValle

Security        Transparency        Efficiency 

Kevin was born and raised in Suffolk County with his four siblings. He grew up in Centereach, New York and was educated in the Middle Country Central School District, graduating from Centereach High School in 1995. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Political Science from Salisbury University where he graduated in 2000.  


Early in his career, Kevin worked for Legislator Daniel Losquadro as his Chief of Staff for 2 years before moving into the private sector where he became president and part-owner of Pinnacle Title Agency from 2007 to 2011. He later went on to become Chief of Staff to the late Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore. During that time Kevin obtained his license to be a loan mortgage originator. Currently, Kevin works on both commercial and residential mortgages for Lynx Mortgage Bank and specializes in working with first time homebuyers. In 2013, Kevin was elected as a Town Councilman in the Town of Brookhaven 3rd Council District. 

In his time as Councilman, Kevin has:

Quality of Life
• Worked with colleagues to knock down over 500 zombie homes throughout the Town of Brookhaven.
• Served as liaison to the Town of Brookhaven Highway Department and advocated for the resurfacing of over 200 roads in Council District 3.


Land Use
• Revitalized and cleaned up main business corridors by working with developers and property owners.


• Brought in over $4 million in grants for various parks and infrastructure projects.


• Produced 8 consecutive on-time and balanced budgets.

• Contributed to the Town of Brookhaven’s “AAA” bond rating by Wall Street rating agencies.

Community Engagement
• Partnered with local organizations to host several community events every year including the largest National Night Out in Suffolk County, recycling events, drug take-backs, blood drives, a basketball tournament, and a 4- mile charity run.
• Attended monthly Civic meetings and Chamber of Commerce meetings to keep a pulse on the community.

• Voted to preserve hundreds of acres of land across the Town of Brookhaven.

For the past decade, Kevin has demonstrated effective leadership and dedication to his constituents by remaining focused on addressing local land use and building concerns, improving government transparency, and ensuring that municipal services are provided efficiently. Kevin’s experiences in both the private and public sector have given him the expertise needed to implement the goals of increased security, efficiency, and transparency in government.
